Hello Unshaken Saints. Welcome back. It is a beautiful day to dive into the Doctrine and Covenants.

And that's exactly what we're doing this week. Last week we began clearing our throats.

We began laying out the foundation and just getting started with that marvelous bicentennial proclamation about the restoration of the gospel.

I'm grateful for that new scripture that we gained four years ago.

Five years ago now. Wow, we're already in 2025. Anyway, what we're going to be doing today is

section one of the Doctrine Convenants, and we are out of order chronologically, but totally in order,

as far as the way the Lord wants this book of scripture to flow. By now it is November of 1831.

There is a conference of the church taking place

and the saints are, the leaders of the church, are discussing,

you name it, the doctrine and covenants.

They don't have a doctrine in covenants yet.

They don't know that that's the title of this book that's going to be

because there is no book yet. It's simply a

bunch of revelations that Joseph Smith is receiving. At one point, Joseph himself said,

it's more than my meat and my drink to help the Latter-day Saints understand the visions

that roll like an overflowing surge before my mind. That's amazing. An overflowing surge, I'm lucky to splash

around in the shallow end. And here's Joseph, writing the wave of revelation, just flooding the earth

with truth. But the question is, what do we do with it all? This is new, a new dispensation. And as the heavens have opened and God has begun

speaking anew to his servants, the prophets, and they're writing it down, what do we do with all

this written, recorded revelation? That was the question on the minds of the saints. And so they

come together in this November 1831 conference with the question in their

minds and the question in their prayers, Heavenly Father, what do we do with your word? Up to this point,
