Last time, the Azaran expedition licked their wounds following the deadly battle of Volaki with

Lady Vakhter in her undead horde. With my allies and minions making their moves with increasing

death tolls, they knew there was not much time left to plan their final strike against me.

And worse still, the children they hold dear are at ever-growing risk.

The Vistani girl of mysterious divination power was an especially vulnerable asset,

so they absconded with her to bring her to Madame Eva, the girl's grandmother.

When meeting with the ancient woman, they received one final Taroka reading.

By all accounts, it should have

remained exactly the same, but it did not. No longer was their fated ally Rudolf van Richten.

It was Sergei. By returning my brother to life, they have changed all our fates. I have no way to

know what will happen now.

With that out of the way, let us proceed with part one of chapter 16, Creatures of the

night. As her eyes go dark, a screech billows from her throat as she warns you that one of your

party, Clayton Azran, will doom them all.

And is in this moment that you watch as her eyes begin to shift again, the milky whites and black

swirling around until you blink and it almost seems as if it's a dream, the incense filling the room,

the smoke causing you to feel lightheaded.
