Hello and welcome back to the Curious Kid podcast, where me, Olivia and Noah live in New Jersey, something unusual happens during the fall just a few months ago.

There were wildfires breaking out around the state.

There are a few reasons why the conditions were ideal for fires to spread,

and one of those reasons was the lack of rain we were getting.

Starting in late September, New Jersey had six consecutive weeks with no rain.

That was a record drought for the state. Thankfully, since

mid-November, the rain has returned and the wildfires are not burning any longer.

When it rains, many people see it as a nuisance, and I do too, but I have a whole new appreciation

for rain and the need for rain because of the events

that happened in New Jersey in the fall, and they're happening right now in California with
