Hello and welcome to Cinema Story Origins episode 19B, The Prince of Egypt, part two. Dedicated to Val Kilmer.

DEMON. When we left off, Moses was just a baby. In the Torah, his mother had placed him in a basket

among the reeds along the riverbank. In the movie and in the Quran, she puts the basket in the

river and sets it adrift, sending him floating down the Nile. However, you slice it the goals the

same. Save the baby from Pharaoh's order to kill all the Hebrew boys.

He's discovered, either by Pharaoh's daughter or the Queen of Egypt,

depending on which scripture you're reading,

and adopted into Egyptian royalty.

From there, he's raised in the palace, far from his real family,

and unaware of his true identity.

Well, in the movie at least. In the scriptures,

we skip all the drama. Moses is adopted, then boom, he's an adult. No chariot races,
