Welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast. This year, we are journeying through all four Gospels.

Our journey officially starts next week.

This week, we are just learning about the Gospels and,

frankly, getting excited for this great big journey that we are about to go on. Yesterday, of course,

we talked about the supplies that you will need. Make sure to print your free gospel in a year

notebook. You can find that link in the notes for this podcast

episode and also find a Bible that you can follow along with as I read through the Gospels.

So yesterday we talked about how the Gospels and the whole Bible is God's Holy Word, alive and

active. And that is why when we read the Gospels, we don't just

read, but we pray the gospel. And so we're going to spend the rest of this week just talking about

the Gospels why they are so important. So there's some things that you probably already know about the Gospels. There are

four books of the Gospels in every Bible. Those are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. So they each are

titled after the man who wrote that gospel.

Now, it's interesting because these gospels were written a long time ago before any sort of technology.

And it's amazing that this writing has endured.

And in many ways, it's the most ancient,

some of the most ancient writing that we still have.
