Hey Sprouts, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast, where we are reading the Gospels this school year.

Today is Day 99.

We're reading the gospel of Mark, specifically chapter 16, verses 1 through 8, where we will hear Mark's very brief account of the resurrection.

Now, I'm reading from the new American translation of the Bible, I encourage you to follow along.

But first, let's pray. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit, and they shall be created, and you will renew the face of the earth. Amen. In the name of the

Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark

chapter 16 verses 1 through 8. When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and

Salome brought spices so they might go and anoint him. Very early when the sun had risen on the

first day of the week they came to the tomb. They were saying to one another, who will roll back

the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?

When they looked up, they saw the stone had been rolled back.

It was very large.

On entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side,

clothed in a white robe robe and they were utterly amazed.

He said to them, do not be amazed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth crucified. He has been raised.

He is not here. Behold the place where they laid him. But go and tell his disciples and Peter, he is going before you to

Galilee. There you will see him as he told you. Then they went out and fled from the tomb,
