Hey, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast where we are reading the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 84 of this journey.

We are in the gospel of Mark.

And at the beginning of chapter 11, where we will be reading verses 1 through 14.

In this passage, we will hear Jesus entering Jerusalem.

I'm reading from the New American translation of the Bible, and before we start, let's pray.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit amen come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love

send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth. Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark chapter 11, verses 1 through 14.

When they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethpage and Bethany at the Mount

of Olives, he sent two of his disciples and said to them, go into the village opposite you,

and immediately on entering it, you will find a cult tethered on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and

bring it here. If anyone should say to you, why are you doing this? Reply, the master has need of it,

and will send it back here at once. So they went off and found a colt, tethered at the gate, outside on the

street, and they untied it. Some of the bystanders said to them, what are you doing on tying the

colt? They answered them just as Jesus had told them to, and they permitted them to do it.

So they brought the cult to Jesus and put their cloaks over it, and he sat on it.

Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches out that they had cut from the fields.
