Welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast where we are reading through the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 73 of this journey.

We are reading from the Gospel of Mark, chapter 6, verses 53 through

chapter 7, verse 23. In this, we're going to hear Jesus address the scribes and the elders.

Now, I'm reading from the New American translation of the Bible. Please join me in praying that our hearts can be open this day to receive God's message. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit, and they shall be created, and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark,

chapter 6, verse 53 through chapter 7, verse 23.

After making the crossing, they came to land at Gessenart and tied up there.

As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him.

They scurried about the surrounding country and began to bring in the sick on mats to

wherever they heard he was.

Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in marketplaces and begged

him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak, and as many as touched it were healed.

Now, when the Pharisees with some scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around him, they observed that some of his
