Welcome back to the Catholic Shrouds podcast where we are reading the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 59 of this journey.

We are in the Gospel of Mark.

And today we will be reading chapter 1, verse 35 through chapter 2, verse 12. In this section, we will hear one of my favorite stories, which is the

healing of the leper. I'm reading from the new American translation of the Bible. I encourage you

to follow along and take notes. Also,

let's remind ourselves that God's Holy Word is alive and active. So join me in praying that our

hearts can be open to receiving the message he has for us today. In the name of the Father,

and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come Holy Spirit, fill the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the

Holy Spirit, amen. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark. Chapter 1, verse 35 through

chapter 2, verse 12. Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place where he prayed.

Simon and those who were with him pursued him, and on finding him, they said,

Everyone is looking for you. He told them, let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also.

For this purpose, I have I come.

So we went into the synagogues preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee.
