Hey, Sprouts, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast, where we are working our way through the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 58 of this journey, reading the Gospel of Mark, today, chapter 1,

verses 21 through 34, where we will begin to see Jesus work miracles.

I'm reading today from the New American Translation of the Bible.

I encourage you to take notes, to read along with me. But above all else,

I remind you that God's Holy Word is alive and active. So let's open our hearts to receive

what he has for us today. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

amen. Come, Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

amen. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark, chapter 1, verses 21 through 34.

Then they came to Copernum, and on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught. The people were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority

and not as the scribes.

In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit.

He cried out, what have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us?

I know who you are, the Holy One of God. Jesus rebuked him and said, quiet, come out of him.

The unclean spirit convulsed him and with the loud cry came out of him.
