Welcome back to the podcast where we are reading through the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 45 of this journey, and we are close to the end of the gospel of Matthew. Today we are reading chapter 26

verses 1 through 25. And you'll hear today that we are shifting into the final days of Jesus'

life, recounting Holy Week, Jesus' passion, death, and resurrection.

Now, I am reading from the New American translation of the Bible.

I encourage you to follow along and take notes.

Remember also that God's holy word is alive and active,

so let's pray that our hearts can be open to his message.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew, chapter 26, verses 1 through 25 when jesus finished all these words he said to his disciples

you know that in two days time it will be the Passover and the son of man will be handed over to be

crucified then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the

high priest who was called Caiaphas, and they consulted together to arrest Jesus by treachery and put

him to death. But they said, not during the festival that there may not be a riot among the people.
