Welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast as we work our way through the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 24.

We are reading from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 12 versus 22 through 50.

Today as we read, we will hear about the demand for a sign as well as other things.

Today I am reading from the new American translation of the Bible.

As you listen, I encourage you to follow along and take notes.

Remember, my friends, that God's holy word is alive and active.

So let's pray that the Holy Spirit can open our hearts to receive God's word today.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth amen in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen the gospel according to matthew chapter 12 verses 22 through

50 then they brought to him a demoniac who was blind and mute. He cured the mute person so that he

could speak and see. All the crowd was astonished and said, could this perhaps be the son of David?

But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, this man drives out demons only by the power of

Beelzebub, the prince of demons. But he knew what they were thinking and said to them,

Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and no town or house divided against itself will be laid waste and no town or house divided against itself will

stand and if satan drives out satan he is divided against himself how then will his kingdom stand and if i drive out

demons by beelzebub by whom do your own people drive them out?
