Hey, Sprouts, welcome back to our walk through the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 187 of this journey.

Today we are reading from the Gospel of John, chapter 15, verses 18 through chapter 16,

verse 4. And in this, we are going to continue to hear Jesus speak to his disciples at the Last Supper, now of the world's hatred for them. As always, I am reading from the New American

Translation of the Bible. I encourage you to

follow along in your own Bible and even take notes. But before we get to that, let's pray. In the name of the

Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel, according to John, chapter 15, verse 18 through chapter 16,

verse 4.

If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.

If you belong to the world, the world would love its own. But because you do not

belong to the world and have chosen, I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you.

Remember the word I spoke to you. No slave is greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.

If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

And they will do all these things to you on account of my name,

because they do not know the one who sent me.

If I have not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin.
