Hey, Sprouts, welcome back to our journey through the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 167 of this journey.

We are reading the Gospel of Luke, and today we will be reading chapter 6,

verses 22 through 40, where we will hear Jesus give the first half of the bread of life discourse. Very exciting. As always, I am reading from the New American Translation of the Bible,

but before we dive in today, let's pray.

In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit, and they shall be created, and you will renew the face of the love. Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. A reading from the Holy Gospel

according to John chapter 6 verses 22 through 40.

The next day, the crowd that remained across the sea saw that there had been only one boat there,

and that Jesus had not gone along with his disciples in the boat, but only his disciples had left.

Other boats came from Tiberius near the place where they had eaten the bread when the Lord gave thanks. When the crowd saw that

neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into boats and came to Copernum

looking for Jesus. And when they found him

across the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when did you get here? Jesus answered them and said,

Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.

Do not work for food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the

son of man will give you. For on him the father, God God has set his seal.
