Welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast,

where we are working our way through the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 15 of this journey

and are reading from the gospel of Matthew.

Today our reading begins at chapter 6, verse 16 through verse 34. We are still in the sermon on the

mount and today we will read about treasure in heaven. I will be reading from the New American

Translation of the Bible. I encourage you to follow along in your own Bible as I read,

and also take notes in the free gospel in a school year notebook, which you can download

by following the link in the notes for this podcast episode.

Now remember, my friends, that God's Holy Word is alive and active, that he has a specific

message for us through His Holy Scripture. So let's open up our hearts to that message

as we pray. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.
