Welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast, where we are working our way

through the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 14,

and we are continuing to read

from the Gospel of Matthew.

Today, our reading begins at chapter 6, and we are reading verses 1 through 15.

In this section, we will hear Jesus teach us the Our Father.

Now, I will be reading to you from the new American translation of the Bible. As you listen,

Remember, my friends, that scripture is different from the other books that we read,

that scripture, the Holy Gospels, is God's Holy Word, alive and active.

So let's open up our hearts to receive God's message as we pray.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.
