Hey, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast, where we are reading the Gospels this school year.

Today is Day 145 of this journey.

We are in the Gospel of Luke, and today we are reading chapter 22,

verses 1 through 38. In this section, we will hear St. Luke's account of the Last Supper.

Now I am reading from the New American translation of the Bible, but before we dive in, let's pray.

In the name of the Father and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit, and they shall be created. And you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke, chapter 22, verses 1 through 38.

Now the feast of Unleavened bread called the Passover was drawing near,

and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking a way to put him to death, for they were afraid of the people.

Then Satan entered Judas, the one surnamed Ascariiat, who was counted among the 12,

and he went to the chief priests and temple guards to discuss a plan

for handing him over to them.

They were pleased and agreed

to pay him money. He accepted

their offer and sought a favorable

opportunity to hand him over
