Hey there, welcome back to the Catholic Spouts podcast where we are reading the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 144 of this journey.

We are in the gospel of Luke and will be reading the entirety of chapter 21 today.

In this chapter, we will hear Jesus describe the signs of the end.

Now, I'm reading from the New American Translation of the Bible.

Feel free to follow along, and I encourage you to take notes.

But before we begin, let's pray.

In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke, chapter 21, verses 1 through 38.

When he looked up, he saw some wealthy people putting their offerings into the treasury,

and he noticed a poor widow putting into small coins. He said, I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest. For those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she

from her poverty has offered her whole livelihood. While some people were speaking about how the temple was adorned with costly stones and

votive offerings, he said, all that you see here, the days will come when there will not be

left a stone upon another stone that will be not thrown down.
