Welcome back to our reading of the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 122 of this journey.

Today we are in the Gospel of Luke,

reading chapter 8 verses 19 through 56, where we will hear about the powerful word of God, a word so powerful that it calms, sees, that it casts

out demons and raises little girls from the dead. It's an epic day, and today we are reading, as always, from the

New American translation of the Bible. But first, let's pray. In the name of the Father and of the

Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful,

and enkindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirits and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke, chapter 8, verses 19 through 56. Then his mother and his

brothers came to him, but were unable to join him because of the crowd. He was told, your mother and your

brothers are standing outside and they wish to see you. He said to them in reply, my mother and your brothers are standing outside and they wish to see you.

He said to them and reply, My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.

One day he got into a boat with his disciples and said to them, let us cross to the other side of the lake.

So they set sail. And while they were sailing, he fell asleep. A squall blew over the lake, and they were taking in water and were in danger. They came and woke him saying,

Master, master, we are perishing. He awakened, rebuked the wind and the waves, and they subsided,
