Welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast, where we are working our way through the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 11, reading from the Gospel of Matthew, starting at chapter 4, verse 12, reading through

verse 25. In this passage, we are going to hear among other things about Jesus calling disciples

to follow him. Now, I am reading from the New American Translation of the Bible.

As I read, consider following along and taking notes in the free gospel in a school year notebook, which you can find in the notes for this podcast episode.

Remember once again that God's word is alive and active.

So let's pray that God can open our hearts to His Word and that we can receive his message.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew, chapter 4, verses 12 through 25.

The beginning of the Galilean ministry.

When he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee.

Jesus left Nazareth and went to live in Copernum by the sea in the region of Zebulon and Naftali,

that what had been said through Elijah the prophet might be fulfilled.

Land of Zebulon and land of Neftali, the way to see beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.
