Hey, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast, where we are reading the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 107 of this journey.

We are in the Gospel of Luke, and we'll be reading chapter 1,

verses 39 through 56, where we will hear the beautiful story of the visitation.

I'm reading from the New American Translation of the Bible. I encourage you to follow along or take notes, but before we dive in, let's pray. In the name of the Father and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them

the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit, and they shall be created, and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel of Luke, chapter 1, verses 39 through 56.

During those days, Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah,

where she entered the house of Zachariah and greeted Elizabeth.

When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb.

And Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud

voice and said, Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this

happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me. For at the moment the sound of your greeting

reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was

spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled. And Mary said, my soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord. My spirit rejoices in God,

my Savior, for he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness. Behold, from now on will all ages call me
