You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

0:25.2

Greetings young Squire Sprouts. Today is the 21st day in the fifth month in the year of our Lord 2022.

0:30.5

My name is Sir Roland Paderlott, and you're listening to Saturdays with Sir Rowland on Catholic Spouts,

0:34.7

where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon slain.

0:38.4

Last week, we talked about the dragon named Frantix, the dragon of distraction.

0:43.9

Frantic keeps us so busy and distracted that we forget the most important things in life,

0:48.2

such as prayer. The world is noisy, but God whispers. So last last week we discussed the importance of taking some time

0:55.3

and quiet prayer each day and listening to God's plan for our life. This week, we're going to

1:36.7

that's like frantic's. Stories are powerful. That's why Jesus told parables to teach us lessons.

1:43.6

That's why our favorite sports teams and

1:45.2

our favorite books or favorite movies inspire us so much. We all want to be part of a great

1:50.0

story. Think about your favorite story for a minute. Mine is the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings

1:55.6

by J.R.R. Tolkien. These stories teach us so much about virtue and good versus evil and how to slay a

2:01.5

dragon. Of course, Tolkien was a devout Catholic and was greatly influenced by the greatest

2:06.1

story ever told, which is why he could write such great stories himself. I've read the stories
