You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Friday, May 13th, 2020. Today is also the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. So way back, just over 100 years ago in 1917, Mary appeared for the first of six times to three children in Fatima, Portugal.

0:50.4

Now, she appeared to them as World War I was happening.

0:57.4

These three small children were Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. They were elementary aged. Yet Mary appeared to them, told them to pray, told them to embrace suffering so that sinners

1:04.9

might be saved from hell. She also asked that Russia be consecrated to her immaculate heart. She really was appearing to them

1:17.3

and advising them to tell the whole world how peace might be procured. She appeared to these three

1:25.6

children for six months in a row. And on October, a great miracle appeared in the sky.

1:32.3

The sun changed colors and looked as if it was going to crash into the earth.

1:37.4

And Our Lady of Fatima appearing to these three visionaries has been investigated and is a verified Marian apparition. It is also a great time to be reminded of how

1:50.3

important it is to pray the rosary. Mary was very clear that even children should be praying the

rosary. It is a powerful prayer, not only as we pray for those in our lives, but as we work to fight the forces of evil that might be attacking us.

2:07.0

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

2:10.4

Now, all week on this podcast, we've been hearing from my younger sister, little sister Halel, who was a fully professed sister in the community of a lamb.

2:18.7

She has already talked about how she knew she was called to religious life, about what life

2:23.8

is like in her community, what it's like to be married to Jesus.

2:27.8

And yesterday she talked about if prayer, a life of prayer ever gets boring.

2:33.0

Today, we're going to talk about probably the first question that you have when you meet a

2:37.8

religious sister, and that is if they were sad when they became a sister and they realized

2:45.2

that they would never have children, if that was a really sad thing for them.

2:50.1

And so we asked little sister Halel, and here is what she had to say.

2:55.9

Yeah. Sometimes we're sad because we don't get to have kids because as woman, how God created us,

3:03.3

he created every woman just in her being, in her body, how God created them, were created to bear
