| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:31.1 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, March 1st, 2022. Today is also the day before Lent begins. So we call today Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras in French. And so historically, this has been the day where people |
| 0:40.9 | celebrate or have that extra piece of cake or dessert because we know that the long fast of |
| 0:48.1 | Lent is coming. And so I encourage you to celebrate a little today before we enter into Lent. |
| 0:54.1 | And also, |
| 0:55.4 | even more importantly than that, spent some time today really evaluating and praying what |
| 1:00.7 | God is calling you to do during Lent. Last week, we talked about fasting, about giving up |

| 1:49.2 | If we're responding to something really terrible happening in the world or someone insulting |
| 1:55.3 | God or hurting a person, those are all bad things, and we should have a reaction of anger. However, when |
| 2:03.6 | that anger becomes bigger than it should, when it lasts a long time, or when we start to just |
| 2:10.0 | feel hatred toward a person or a group of people that's not even caused by something, |
| 2:15.2 | then we have crossed over into sin. And so when you think about hatred, |
| 2:20.7 | the image that Fulton Sheen uses in his book, Victory over Vice, is he uses the image of a clenched |
