| 0:38.8 | that are hungry, so that we become masters of ourselves and we are just slaves to food and |

| 0:51.3 | fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, but encourages us to fast every Friday, |
| 0:57.3 | not only of Lent, but of the whole year. And yesterday we talked about how fasting is an act |
| 1:03.9 | of worship, how every act of sacrifice that we do in the name of Jesus Christ is an act of worship. |
| 1:11.9 | And how when we fast for a day, that whole day becomes a day of worship. |
| 1:19.3 | For I'm telling Jesus, you are more important than my comfort in this moment. |
| 1:25.4 | And so that brings us to reason number five, |
| 1:29.6 | why fasting is so good for us. |
| 1:32.6 | And it is this. |
| 1:34.1 | When we fast, when we take on any level of suffering, |
| 1:38.7 | when we choose it, it doesn't just happen to us, |
| 1:41.5 | but we choose it, we become co-redeemers with Jesus Christ. |

| 1:50.8 | So let's talk about that word. |

| 1:54.1 | We believe that Jesus Christ offered himself up willingly as a sacrifice on the cross |
