Hey there, Spouse. Today is Thursday, December 9th, 2021.

Today is also the feast day of an incredible saint that we celebrate here in the Americas, and the saint

is St. Juan Diego. Now, St. Juan Diego was a poor man indigenous to Mexico living in the

1400s. Shortly after the Spanish missionary arrives, very few people converted to Christianity.

But Juan Diego and his wife were among the first.

It was very devout, and he would walk a couple of miles to Mass every day.

One day while walking, he passed a small hill called Tepeak Hill,

and there he saw a beautiful woman, a woman that was dressed

like an Aztec princess. She was clearly pregnant, and she wore around her neck across, which he,

of course, recognized as a symbol of the Christian faith. She identified herself as Mary. And she asked One Diego to go to the

bishop and ask him to build a chapel in her honor at that place. One Diego went. The bishop was kind,

but he said he needed to pray about it. Juan Diego came back, spoke to Mary. He went again the next day. The bishop said he needed a sign. So he went back and told Mary, she said she would give him that sign the following day. But Juan Diego's uncle, who he was very devoted to, fell ill and was going to die. So he did not return when he said he would. Then a few days later,

he was rushing to get a priest because he thought his uncle was dying. And he was passing the

hill and he thought, oh no, I have not returned when I said I was. So he went around a different way

to avoid Mary. but she came down

and greeted him anyway. She loved him very much and greeted him as her smallest and just most

dear son. She said that his uncle would be cured at that moment and directed him to go to the

bishop. Then Mary helped
