| 0:54.2 | Now, this week, we are going to be talking about the fifth beatitude. |
| 0:57.7 | Yes, we are in the second half of the beatitudes. We have already done the first four. |
| 1:00.9 | So just to review from the Gospel of Matthew, the first four are, blessed are the poor and spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. |
| 1:12.7 | Blessed are those who mourn, |
| 1:20.0 | for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. And blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Today, that brings us to the fifth beatitude, |

| 2:20.2 | understanding mercy is this. God himself is mercy. It is what God is. I know that probably |
| 2:33.2 | doesn't help a lot, but God is the tender source of all mercy. |
| 2:41.0 | And mercy, of course, is a big concept. It's sort of like two things joined together. |
