| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:38.0 | Hey there, sprouts. Today is Friday, July 23, 2021. Today we are wrapping up our discussion of the third beatitude. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Now, we've already talked about how meekness requires humility and patience. |
| 0:43.6 | We've also talked about how, in order to be meek, we must have great strength inside of us |
| 0:50.4 | so that when we are mad or irritated, we choose love, humility, and patience, not anger and |
| 0:58.1 | violence. |
| 0:59.6 | We talked about how meekness will change the world, and we saw this through the example of |

| 1:47.7 | and quietly allow God to speak to us, there is even more that he wants to say specifically to you. |
| 1:56.4 | But let's get a starting point. What does this mean inherit the earth? |
| 2:01.7 | Well, before we answer that question, we're going to go back and talk about the beatitudes |
| 2:06.0 | in general. |
| 2:08.0 | Now, although the beatitudes might sound familiar to us, they are radical messages. |
| 2:15.7 | They are both confusing and the total opposite about what we might assume or what the |
| 2:22.0 | people at the time that sat there listening to Christ assumed. They are telling us, in fact, |
| 2:27.7 | the opposite of everything that we might think we know. For example, the first one, |
| 2:33.4 | Blessed are the poor in spirit. He's telling us, |
