You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

0:32.1

Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Friday, June 18th, 2021. Now, all week, I challenge myself to motivate you to attend at least one holy hour all summer, maybe more. And to do this, we have talked about the origins of Eucharistic adoration,

0:41.5

how it grew out of a longing to spend more time looking at Christ,

0:47.5

and this came out of the Middle Ages.

0:49.5

We also talked about St. Mother Teresa and how she said that everything she did grew out of a

0:56.7

relationship with Christ in the Eucharist, whom she spent an hour with every morning.

1:03.1

We also heard from Venerable Fulton Sheen about how we become what we gaze upon.

1:09.4

You become a dull TV screen.

1:12.7

If you gaze upon that all day long,

1:14.8

but you become like Christ when you spend time gazing at Him,

1:19.5

the Lord of the universe, the source of all love and life.

1:24.2

Now, yesterday we heard from St. Teresa of Avala,

1:27.1

as well as St. Chorese of, and we heard about how Christ is truly present there, as real and as present as he was when he lived on earth, and how Christ is waiting specifically for you to come see him.

1:43.4

Yes, he loves the entire church, but he loves specifically you.

1:49.6

Now, today we're going to hear from St. Alphonsis Lagori, another great saint, really about why we go to

1:58.0

Eucharistic adoration. So St. Alphanzas reminds us of this. Now, when we have a really good

2:05.0

friend, someone that we just get along with so well, we have a lot that we share with them,

2:10.8

and they're just fun to be around. We make great memories with them. So picture that person,

2:17.3

sort of the person that you just

2:18.7

love to be around the most. You know, it's a pleasure to be in their company, right? Maybe

2:25.3

even doing something that's sort of dreadful, like raking leaves or pulling weeds in the garden.

2:32.0

It can be fun if they're there, just because they're such a good friend and you love them.
