0:49.6	Now, all week we are going to be talking about the solemnity that we will be celebrating this coming
0:55.5	Friday, but also a devotion that the entire month of June, which we are in right now, is dedicated to,
1:03.9	and that is the sacred heart of Jesus. Now, even if you don't quite know what the sacred heart of Jesus is, I bet that you have
1:14.4	seen an image of Jesus and his sacred heart. Now, usually in churches, most every church I have
1:21.6	been in, there is a statue depicting the sacred heart of Jesus. And this is a statue of Jesus with his heart on the outside. The sacred heart of Jesus. And this is a statue of Jesus with his heart on the outside.
1:30.7	The sacred heart of Jesus is usually depicted as a heart that is encircled with a crown of thorns.
1:39.3	Usually if you look closely, you can see that the heart has been pierced, is bleeding and wounded.
1:46.8	And also, there are usually flames shooting out at the top of the heart.
1:53.7	And this is displayed on the outside of a statue or a painting or an icon of Christ.
2:00.1	Now, this is a very important devotion, important enough that we celebrated all of June,
2:06.1	but it is also a very important devotion for each of us privately,
2:11.3	because it reminds us of a very important quality of our Savior,
2:16.3	and also gives us an opportunity to not only understand
2:19.4	him better, but to model our own hearts, our own love and emotions more perfectly after
2:26.8	him. So what does the Sacred Heart of Jesus remind us? Well, number one and above all else, the sacred heart of
2:37.0	Jesus' devotion reminds us that Jesus had a human heart. He had a heart just like the one that is
2:45.6	beating inside of your chest right now. Now, if you have ever seen a picture or been to an ultrasound where a woman
2:56.0	is expecting a baby, the first thing that they usually look for is they look for a heartbeat.
