| 1:20.9 | well, if I can just watch masks or maybe even not watch mass, maybe just pray privately. |
| 1:31.4 | If I can do that, then why do I need to go to church? You know, it's kind of nice to sleep in on Sundays and maybe stay home. Like, why do I |
| 1:40.0 | need to go? Well, there's three reasons. There's three reasons why we do need to go to Mass every |
| 1:49.5 | Sunday. The first one is the most obvious. Of course, this is different in the world right now |
| 1:56.8 | because we're still dealing with the coronavirus, but the first one is because we're obligated to. |
| 2:03.3 | We have a Sunday obligation. We are required to go to Mass every Sunday. Now, this was lifted, |
| 2:11.7 | of course, when the church is closed. And for people that are still struggling in the pandemic, |
| 2:16.6 | this is still lifted. But when things go back to |
| 2:20.3 | normal, which hopefully they will, we all will be obligated to go to mass if we can. Now, if we're |
| 2:28.0 | stuck in a snowstorm and we can't get there, or if we're terribly ill, or whatever it might be, of course, we understand that. |
| 2:37.0 | But if we can get to Mass, we need to go. |
| 2:40.6 | And if we don't go, it is a serious sin, and we will not be able to receive Jesus in the |
| 2:46.2 | Holy Eucharist until we have gone to confession. |
