0:34.1	Now, all week, we are continuing on our series where we look with fresh eyes around our churches.
0:39.0	Yesterday, we talked about the tabernacle. Today Today we're going to talk about three objects that are used during the consecration. Very important ones that we should probably
0:46.2	understand a little better. These are called the chalice, the Patton, and the suborium. Okay, so they're very important objects, and usually they are made out of some sort of precious metal, like gold or silver.
1:04.0	But, I mean, if you just think about it, the chalice is a cup, The patent is a plate. And the suborium is kind of like a bowl
1:18.2	with a lid on top. So chalice, patent, and suborium. Now, why do we make them out of precious metal like gold? Why do we give them such
1:30.1	fancy names? And why do we treat them so differently than the cups and plates and bowls in your
1:36.1	home? Well, hopefully the answer to that question is very obvious. And this is because the chalice,
1:44.0	the patent, and the suborium are meant to contain Christ
1:49.6	himself. Now, if you think about it, the person that you love the most, that you just,
1:57.5	you want to just, you know, give yourself to, to really love the most.
2:01.4	You want to give them the best that you have, you know?
2:04.8	If you fall in love one day and decide to marry someone, you don't want to just give them whatever junk is laying around.
2:12.5	You want to give them something very special and meaningful.
2:16.2	You want to work hard.
2:17.3	You want to make sure it's the most
2:18.4	beautiful gift you can give them. Well, Christ should be the center of our lives, our heart.
2:25.2	We should want to give him the best of what we are. Also, we know that this is God. This is God.
2:33.6	He deserves so much more than gold. He deserves so much more.
2:38.7	So we give him the best. Now the chalice, of course, is the cup in which the wine is poured and through the prayers of the
2:49.2	consecration is transformed into the blood of Christ.
