You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith.

0:37.6

Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, April 8th, 2021. Today is also, of course, still in the octave of Easter. So I hope you're not getting tired of celebrating because we have a couple more days of celebrating Easter.

0:43.4

All week, we've, of course, been talking about Easter, about Christ conquering Satan's sin and death, about his resurrected and glorified body, and the personal encounters that

0:49.6

are recorded in the gospel after the resurrection. We've talked about Mary Magdalene, doubting Thomas,

0:56.7

and today we're going to meet some new characters, but we're going to talk about my favorite

1:01.2

story of the resurrection, which is the Road to Amas. Now on the Road to Amas, we meet a character

1:08.6

named Cleophis, who actually doesn't appear in the gospel

1:59.4

walking toward Amas, suddenly there is a man that sort of come up

2:04.1

behind them and sort of joined them. And he's entered into conversation with him. And he's wondering

2:11.0

what they're talking about. He tells them and they say, are you the only person in this whole region

2:17.4

that doesn't know about Jesus from

2:19.5

Nazareth, about his death and all the events surrounding it? So they inform him. And then this

2:25.6

stranger that they don't recognize begins to explain to them slowly and patiently how all of these books and all of these these things in the old

2:37.8

testament point to Jesus Christ how all of these things laid the groundwork how we should have

2:45.7

been expecting Jesus because of all of these details from the Old Testament. Their minds are just exploding with all
