| 0:28.6 | This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we have been investigating the question that is central to our lives as Christians, who is Jesus Christ. |

| 0:43.3 | But we are spending this week to review all of the evidence, all of the facts, all of the ways that Jesus made it perfectly clear in scripture that he is God. The first way that he |

| 1:06.7 | Next, he as God has the power to forgive sins. And yesterday we talked about he as God has the power to forgive sins. |
| 1:18.1 | And yesterday we talked about he as God has the power to command nature as no other thing does. |
| 1:27.7 | Now today, we are going to talk about how Jesus proves that he is God because he gathers. |
| 1:31.4 | Now here is what is so interesting. |
| 1:40.2 | All throughout the Old Testament, God is working to gather together this special group of people, the nation of Israel. |
| 1:42.8 | They are his special possession. |
| 1:45.3 | And he does amazing things for them. |
| 1:57.6 | He leads them out of slavery, brings them to the promised land, listens to their needs, ordains, prophets and kings for them, rescues them from exile, does all of these things. |
| 2:04.8 | But throughout all of this, human beings are sinning terribly against God. |
| 2:11.3 | They're forgetting him. They're turning their back on him. They're doing terrible things to each other. |
| 2:18.3 | And through all of this, the nation of Israel is scattered. They don't listen to God. |
| 2:20.6 | Therefore, God can't protect them. |
| 2:24.8 | Foreign countries come and conquer them and take them away. |
| 2:29.9 | Their kings become evil and begin to worship false gods. |
