| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:30.0 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, January 14th, 2021. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are examining this question that is central to the lives of all Christians, |
| 0:36.2 | who is Jesus? And what is the proof for the fact |
| 0:41.7 | that He is God and the Messiah? |
| 0:43.7 | So we've already talked about the proof for him being God and Messiah by the fact that he |
| 0:49.1 | heals, that he works on the Sabbath as only God can. |
| 0:54.4 | We also see that he proves He is God because he is able to forgive sins. |
| 0:59.3 | And today we are going to see another example, another proof that He is God, |
| 1:05.6 | because he has the power to command nature. |
| 1:10.8 | Now, all throughout the book of Psalms, which is basically the Jewish |
| 1:15.6 | prayer book, a book of sung prayers, many of which were written by King David. All throughout that, |
| 1:23.2 | they sing the praise of God, and they recognize God alone as the creator of nature but also the thing |
| 1:31.2 | that can command and direct nature controlling the wind and the sea. There are also some great |
| 1:39.4 | examples from the Old Testament when amazing things happened to the natural world. |
| 1:47.3 | For example, after God used Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, they came |
| 1:53.9 | to the Red Sea. |
| 1:55.6 | And of course, Pharaoh's heart had been hardened again, and he was coming out into the desert |
| 2:00.4 | to reclaim his slaves. |
| 2:02.5 | So the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh's army and the Red Sea. |
| 2:07.6 | But God commanded Moses, of course, to go and stretch his staff out over the sea. |
| 2:13.4 | And the water became like a wall on each side. |
| 2:16.8 | And the Israelites were able to pass through the sea on the dry land, the bottom of the sea. Amazing. |
