0:30.2	Hey there, Sprouds. Today is Monday, December 28th, 2020. Today is also the Feastay of the Holy Innocence.
0:38.9	Now, today on this feast day, we remember all of those young children that were killed in Bethlehem by King Herod shortly after Jesus was born.
0:45.9	If you remember, the three wise men had told King Herod about the star they were following and the great king that they were expecting to find underneath this star.
0:51.5	King Herod was violent and jealous, and he really did not want anyone to threaten
0:57.5	his power. So shortly after Jesus was born, he sent his soldiers into Bethlehem, and they killed
1:03.9	all of the young children there. Fortunately, God's angel had warned St. Joseph, and he had taken the Holy Family out of Bethlehem
1:12.6	and into Egypt, and therefore Jesus had survived. But today we remember all of those young children
1:19.4	that were killed. Now, today, Spruz, we are going to start in on a new topic that we will be
1:26.0	talking about all week, and that topic is
1:29.2	the family. This time of year, right after Christmas, where we're still celebrating Jesus'
1:36.3	birthday, his entrance into the world, is a great time to reflect on the family. All of us are part of a family, and that is incredibly important.
1:50.5	In fact, Pope St. John Paul II, when he was talking about the family, he described it as
1:57.2	the little church, that, yep, we go to our parish church on Sundays to that impressive
2:04.1	building but we also belong to and spend even more time in a little church the church of our
2:12.8	homes now what does this mean well it means lots of things. First of all, remember always that your
2:20.8	home and your family are a sacred and important place that God puts you here for a specific
2:27.4	reason. But we also need to think, okay, well, what do I do at church, the big church, that I need to also be doing in my family?
2:37.8	Now, succinctly, when we go to church, we commune with God.
2:43.3	We enter his presence.
2:45.0	We stand before him and allow him to see us.
2:48.1	We do that also in our homes.
