because their powers are real. Today is Friday, October the 9th,

2020. It's also the feast day of St. Dennis. Now, what's amazing about St. Dennis, his superpower,

is that he was martyred, and when they martyred him, they beheaded him, and he actually

reached down, picked up his head, and walked off. An amazing story.

Today, I will tell you one more story about the Polish saint, St. Hyacinth.

So the year is 1257.

It's towards the end of his life.

And he wanted to take a trip into the country to visit a family that he was friends with.

And they sent their son, whose name was Vislaus, to pick

him up, and they sent along an elderly servant named John. Now, when they arrived, they had three

richly bridled and saddled horses, and Hyacinth looked at them and thought, well, my goodness,

I took a vow of poverty. I can't be riding along on this beautiful horse. So he asked

Vislaus, who was 16 years old, he said, will you walk with me so I can keep up my vow of poverty?

And Vislaus said, okay, I'll do that. And so they sent to head the horses and said, well, stop and wait

first periodically, and we'll catch up to you as we're walking. So as they began the trek, Hyacinth talked to

Vislaus and Vislaus was just captivated by the stories that Hyacinth told. And so Vislaus got bold and he

said, is it true Hyacinth that you raised people from the dead? And Hyacinth got serious and said,

yes, God has given me that grace many times.

And so Vislaus said, well, do you think you can do it again in Sernak when you come to visit us?

And so Hyacinth got really serious.
