You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast, 2020. Today is also the feast day of St. Winstislaus. Now, maybe you're used to hearing about good king Winslaus, more so around Christmas, but today is his actual feast day,

and he really was a good king. St. Wichesloss lived in the 900s in what was then Bohemia,

and he fought to maintain Christian values in the government during a very strong anti-Christian movement. So this week on

the Catholic Sprout's podcast, we are going to be telling five different stories that all took

place in the same place. They all take place in one city, and I bet that you have heard of this

place. It's called Bethlehem that you have heard of this place.

It's called Bethlehem.

Now, we're talking about five different things, but I bet that you know one remarkable thing that took place in Bethlehem.

What was it?

That's right.

Bethlehem is a city where Jesus was born.

But the interesting thing that we are going to talk about this week is that in one place, many important stories can take place. And you probably know that this is true because if you think about your own home, particularly if you think about the kitchen table where you eat your

meals, chances are that many memorable things have happened around that table. Maybe birthday parties.

Maybe you can remember a time when you were doing your homework there and got super frustrated

with math problems and other things. The big places

that we use in our homes every day have lots of stories tied to them. Now, the city of Bethlehem,

of course, is in Judea, where God brought his chosen people the Jews. They settled there. They

lived there for generations and generations.

And many important people lived in Bethlehem.

Many of important people were born in Bethlehem.

And we're going to talk about five stories.
