Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, July 22, 2020. This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we are talking about the Sixth Commandment, Thou shalt not commit adultery. We have

Next, we learned that marriage should be protected, the very

institution of marriage, because marriage serves as a building block for the whole world,

and that through marriage there is a safe and best place to raise children. Now, today, we are going to

talk about the topic of chastity. But to introduce

us to this topic, we have a great saint who is celebrating her feast day today, St. Mary Magdalene.

Now, perhaps you know about St. Mary Magdalene. She is one of the few saints that knew Jesus and

appears in the gospel. And she also has the honor of being the first person to see Jesus after

he rose from the dead. But let's talk about what Mary Magdalene was like before she met Jesus.

Mary Magdalene was notorious. Now, this means that she

had a bad reputation. In fact, when Jesus first encountered her, he cast seven demons out of her.

In the gospel, oftentimes we hear about people that are possessed by demons,

where demons are inside of them and are oftentimes controlling what they do. Mary Magdalene was

living such a terrible life that she had seven demons inside of her. The Gospels also tell us the

sins against chastity, meaning she was using her body to do inappropriate things. She was not

respecting her body as she should. Now, what does chastity mean?

Well, chastity means that we see our body as a beautiful creation that God himself created.
