| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:24.4 | Hey Catholic Sprouts. |
| 0:33.2 | Today is Tuesday, July 14th, 2020, and it is the feast day of St. Kateri Tecuita. |
| 0:40.3 | Now this week, we are talking about the body and we are talking about health and fitness. So the importance of our bodies and the importance of taking care of our bodies. |
| 0:45.4 | Now, yesterday, we talked about how God created us, created our bodies better, more beautiful, more holy, and more sacred than the rest of |
| 0:57.7 | creation. We are his artistic masterpiece. And we are all unique and we are all designed by |
| 1:04.9 | him. Now, unfortunately, sometimes we don't always see the goodness of our bodies. We critique our bodies, |
| 1:16.4 | we make fun of our bodies, maybe other people make fun of our bodies, and that's just not good. |
| 1:23.6 | Now today's saint is St. Coti Tecahuita, right? |
| 1:32.7 | Now, when St. Cotiri was four years old, she got smallpox. |
| 1:38.7 | And unfortunately, it left a lot of scarring on her face. |
| 1:43.3 | And because of that, she was very ashamed of her face, and so she would oftentimes wear a blanket to hide |
| 1:46.9 | herself. Now, over time, Kateri came to learn that she was beautiful, just like we learned |
| 1:55.2 | yesterday. She had nothing to be ashamed of and nothing to hide. How often do we try to hide maybe our faces? |
| 2:07.9 | Do we try to hide certain parts of us? Do we try to hide or wish that we were different? |
| 2:16.3 | Now, we don't want to do that because again, God tells us that he created |
| 2:22.8 | us uniquely and preciously. He designed us as very good. So we're going to practice this. |
| 2:31.5 | I have a friend whose little daughter is in a ballet class. She's six years old. And one day during ballet class, the instructor had all the little girls go up to the mirror and say one thing that they liked about themselves. And there was this one little girl who walked up to the mirror in her little tutu. |
| 2:53.5 | Do I have any ballerinas out there? |
| 2:56.0 | Any kids that love to dance? |
| 2:58.5 | Well, she went up to the mirror in her little tutu, and she just stood there. |
| 3:04.3 | And she began to cry. |
