Hey there, sprouts. Today is Friday, June 26, 2020. It's all the feast day of St. Jose Maria Escriva.

0:39.9

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about the Third Commandment to keep the Lord's Day holy. We've talked about the biblical foundations of celebrating the Sabbath. We've talked about whether God sleeps

0:45.6

and that he does rest and in doing so, he glorifies in a created world. Next, we talked about

0:54.0

why this happens on a Sunday, that each Sunday is a

0:57.7

mini Easter and the best way to celebrate is to go to Mass. Yesterday we talked about ways that we can

1:05.0

work to restore the sacredness of Sunday in our world and how we need to be constantly policing

1:11.7

ourselves and make sure that if we can help it, we're not contributing to forcing other

1:37.7

try to live these things as best you can this coming Sunday. So first, a list of things that you

1:43.6

should try to avoid on Sundays.

1:46.3

First off, work to limit your Sunday commitments, meaning if you are signing up for a sport or a

1:55.6

club that regularly meets on Sundays, try to maybe find a different club or sport to belong to,

2:04.5

or discuss with the people organizing and find a different time to meet.

2:10.1

Sunday is not the day for too many commitments or for anything that feels like work or stress. Next, try not to go shopping on

2:22.4

Sundays. I know this is hard, especially in families where both parents are working. Sunday feels

2:29.0

like a great time to stock up with groceries. One thing I want you to consider is that perhaps at least wait until

2:37.5

Sunday evening. Just as the Sabbath starts Saturday evening and why we can go to Saturday

2:44.2

evening mass, keep Saturday evening through Sunday evening, sacred, holy, and restful. And then with all of the things you

2:53.5

have to do to prepare for the following week to come, whether that be planning or shopping, try to keep
