Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are talking about the third commandment,

the commandment to keep the Lord's Day holy, the Sabbath, Sunday.

Yesterday we talked about the biblical reasons for this commandment that God rested on the

seventh day of creation and that when the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt,

they no longer were forced to work seven days a week, and therefore

they were free to honor God by giving him that last day. Now, today we're going to tackle

an important question about the nature of God. Back in Genesis and creation, we hear that

God rested. What does we hear that God rested.

What does this mean that God rested?

When we think about ourselves and think about resting, we think about, you know, putting our feet up, stop working, sleep.

Those are all things that we think. And we think perhaps God, did God sleep

on the seventh day? Did he do nothing? Well, here are some things that we know about God.

Of course, God is a mystery, but we do know that God does not sleep.

Now, why do we know this?

We know this because think about yourself.
