| 1:45.8 | Mass, she rolled her eyes. It was so boring. But she knew it was pointless to argue with her parents. |
| 1:53.3 | She might as well just get ready and go. So she would. She would get ready and slump into the pew. |
| 2:00.4 | And when her dad told her she had to kneel, she would kneel. But the whole time she sat there kneeling, she wasn't thinking about God. She was thinking instead about what her friends had said or what she was going to do next. She was daydreaming about what color she might paint her fingernails or when her parents would actually let her get a phone. |
| 2:21.0 | During the Mass, sometimes she listened to a reading for a minute, but not really. |
| 2:26.3 | And she was never going to sing. |
| 2:28.9 | Oh, don't even talk to me about singing, she thought. |
| 2:32.0 | It's bad enough that I'm here. |
