| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:28.7 | Hey there, Sprouse. Today is Thursday, April 23, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are talking about the pandemic that is affecting us all and answering this key |
| 0:34.2 | question for all Christians. Why does God let evil things happen? We've already decided |
| 0:40.8 | that it is not God's plan when people die or being made ill through the pandemic, but instead |
| 0:48.1 | each time God created something he gave up a little bit of control, particularly when he created |
| 0:54.1 | human beings and gave |
| 0:55.3 | us free will. We've also decided that God created certain rules to govern all of creation, |
| 1:02.0 | and he lets the earth unfold according to those natural processes, whether it causes an earthquake |
| 1:08.0 | or a mutation in a virus. |
| 1:17.6 | Yesterday we talked about God's perfect will and how his plan for us is full of joy and peace and life. |
| 1:25.2 | But God does allow evil into this world because he respects our free will and most importantly because he can show us that he can use all things for his glory. |
| 1:32.3 | Now, today, we are going to talk about how this really is true and how the most evil thing |
| 1:40.8 | that ever happened in the history of the world was allowed by God and was used by God |
| 1:49.2 | to show the most greatest, most perfect gift ever received. Now, this is something that we just |
| 1:56.7 | celebrated over Holy Week and are still celebrating during Easter. |
| 2:03.3 | Of course, the most evil thing that ever happened is that God himself, humbled himself. |
| 2:11.3 | He became man. |
| 2:12.7 | He lived among us, but he ultimately was rejected, was tortured, and killed. |
| 2:22.7 | That is the most evil thing that has ever happened. |
| 2:27.8 | It was not God's will. |
| 2:30.2 | That was not God's perfect plan for bringing humanity back into his love. |
| 2:37.4 | That wasn't his plan. |
