| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:38.4 | Hey there, Sprouse. Today is Wednesday, April 1st, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprauds podcast, we are talking about the sin of sloth and the virtue of zeal for the mission. We've already seen this played out through the example of a couple of great saints who were celebrating their feast days this week. But we've also heard from Jesus Christ |
| 0:44.0 | on the cross and how he said, it is finished shortly before he died, reminding us that his |
| 0:52.0 | entire time on earth was a great work that he was given by God |
| 0:57.6 | to show us how to live, how to love, and how to give our lives to God. |
| 1:05.0 | Now today, we are going to continue talking about this, but we are going to talk about an important topic. And that topic is this. |
| 1:13.7 | When we believe, when we have faith, when we truly believe that Jesus Christ is God, that he was a |
| 1:21.5 | real man that died for us, God himself came to earth, that he knows us and loves us and is waiting for us in heaven, |
| 1:29.1 | and that this is the most important thing when we believe that with our whole heart, |
| 1:35.2 | that it must lead us to action. |
| 1:40.4 | In fact, just believing those things, if we truly believe those things, it is impossible |
| 1:46.9 | not to act. Impossible. For our faith to be alive, it must be active. Now, we see this through |
| 1:58.3 | the lives of the saints. They fell in love with Jesus. They knew him and |
| 2:03.3 | loved him. And because of that, they did things. They went and they lived as missionaries or raised |
| 2:10.4 | holy children or gave their lives completely to God as a hermit where they simply communed with God and prayed. |
| 2:19.1 | So all of the actions, all of the works that we are talking about this week, |
| 2:24.5 | they start with faith. |
| 2:27.2 | It's not just a great idea that someone came up with and decided to do. |
| 2:32.3 | It started with a profound love and belief in God. And then the work |
| 2:37.2 | that they did, all of these various saints, was handed to them by God. Now today we have another |
| 2:44.4 | saint celebrating a feast day. Once again, one that you probably haven't heard of. And this saint is |
| 2:50.5 | St. Hugh of Grenoble. |
