Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Sprouts. Today is Friday, March 27th, 2020. This week on the Catholic Sprouts we have been talking about the sin of greed. We talked about our complex relationship with money and possessions. We need them,

0:40.9

but we fall into the sin of greed when we love them too much, when we allow worrying about them

0:47.4

or hoarding them to ourselves to push out any thoughts of God. On the Feast of the Nen's

0:53.8

annunciation, we were reminded that Mary is the

0:56.8

best example of loving trust in God. And when we looked at Jesus on the cross, and we heard him say those

1:04.8

words, Father, into thy hands, I commend my spirit, We were reminded that we need to be detached from money and possessions.

1:17.7

Jesus died on the cross with only his spirit.

what you own, it never will be. I think that a lot of people in this world spend so much time trying to get lots of money and go on fabulous vacations and own a better car and a nicer

2:20.1

house because they're trying to create heaven here. They think that the more comfortable I am,

2:28.4

the more fun I have, the more beautiful I am, than the happier I will be. And it's almost like I'm living in

2:37.1

eternal happiness here on earth. Now we know that this is a lie and we know that things will

2:45.6

always disappoint us. But even as adults, this can be really confusing. We can think about always getting the

2:54.2

newer, the better thing. And we're trying to just make things a little bit better, a little bit more

2:59.9

comfortable, to make our food a little bit more tasty, to make the night a little bit more fun.

3:06.1

And now these things aren't bad. We know that, yes,
