Hey there, Spouse. Today is Wednesday, December 4th, 2019. This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we are jumping into Advent, working on the Jesse Tree. So like I mentioned, we aren't

going to talk through all of the characters in the Jesse

Instead, we are going to talk about the prophets.

So before we do that, let's talk about what a prophet is.

Now, unfortunately, a lot of people have a wrong idea of what a prophet is.

A profit is not a psychic or someone that can see the future

or that has some sort of innate power on their own. That is absolutely not what a prophet is.

Instead, a prophet is someone that is first and foremost, faithful and connected to God.

Someone that believes in God, practices their faith, and spend a lot of time with God.

So that's step one.

Now, a person goes from being just a faithful follower to a prophet when God does something.

Remember, all of this comes from God.

A person becomes a prophet when God selects them to have special knowledge.

messages from God. Yes, a lot of those messages had to do with the future, but they didn't have some

sort of ability to see all of the future. For example, if you ask them, hey, is it going to rain

tomorrow? They might know the answer to that if it was part of the larger message that God was
