| 0:29.0 | This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are talking about the second gift of the Holy Spirit, which is piety. |
| 0:36.6 | We've talked about how this is the second step on a ladder |
| 0:40.3 | all the way to heaven. Now all along we have been talking about how to understand piety we need to |
| 0:46.9 | think about a family, how God is, yes, the all-powerful I am, but as Jesus taught us, he is also our father. |
| 0:56.3 | Yesterday, we talked about how understanding God as father, being respectful, and trusting that |
| 1:04.4 | he knows what is best for us will lead us to a reverence for divine worship. |
| 1:14.1 | It will make us truly participate in that worship. |
| 1:21.1 | Now today, what we are going to talk about is the second thing the piety helps us to do, |

| 1:48.9 | Why is the person able to do that or why have they chosen to act in that way? |
| 1:55.7 | Well, the why, the why to why we might guard our holiness or work on holiness or be drawn to prayer more. The answer to |
| 2:05.9 | that is this family concept. So before we get there, let's talk about what it means to guard our |
| 2:14.6 | interior holiness. Well, think about this, sprouts. Now, we believe that God is present |
| 2:23.3 | inside of us. God created us. And if we try to live a life without him, we're going to be seeking |
| 2:30.2 | after things that will always disappoint us. We'll have a hunger, a longing for something |
| 2:36.2 | that we don't understand if we refuse to allow God into our souls. Interior holiness means that I |
| 2:45.0 | respect who I am. I respect that God created me and I want him to dwell inside of me. |
