Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, October 10th, 2019. This week on the Catholic Sprouts

podcast, we have been talking about the Trinity. We talked about how God is a community of love.

He is one true God with three persons. We also talked about how the

mystery of the Trinity is something that we will never be able to really fit inside of our minds.

So don't be frustrated. Lots of saints struggle to understand this too.

Yesterday we talked about how in the Trinity there's three people and the hardest person

to understand is easily the Holy Spirit.

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the early church on Pentecost and with the Holy Spirit comes

many gifts.

Now today we are going to continue to talk about this idea of gifts.

So think about this for a moment with me. Now, what is the point of life? I know that's a big

question, but it's something that philosophers have been thinking about for a long time.

What is the ultimate thing that we are questing after?

Well, philosophers, both the Greek pagan philosophers and even the philosopher, St. Thomas Aquinas,

came to the same conclusion that the whole point of life, everything that we are questing after is happiness. We are questing after happiness.

Some of us chase down money or honor or power, but even chasing down those things is just

a means or a step or an effort to be happy.

A lot of the times we chase down things that don't make us happy

and make us even less happier than we were in the beginning.

Now, St. Thomas Aquinas realized, of course,

that the ultimate happiness that we can hope to experience is heaven. That happy isn't even the
