| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:17.0 | Hey there, Sprouts. |
| 0:22.8 | Today is Wednesday, October 9th, 2019. |
| 0:27.1 | This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about the Holy Trinity. |
| 0:32.1 | We talked about how God is a community or more so a family, how the Trinity is a very difficult thing to understand, |
| 0:41.7 | and we can never fit all there is about God inside of our tiny little minds. |
| 0:47.6 | And we also talked about how God is a community of love. He is lover, beloved, |
| 0:53.0 | and the very love that flows between the two. |
| 0:56.1 | Today, we are going to start talking specifically about the Holy Spirit, the third person |
| 1:02.3 | of the Trinity. Now, the Holy Spirit is probably the hardest part of the Trinity to understand. |
| 1:09.9 | God spent the entire Old Testament letting people know who |
| 1:15.4 | he was. All of the prophets, all of the stories from the book of Genesis, from Adam and Eve, |
| 1:22.3 | Noah, Moses, escaping Egypt, all of those stories are really stories not so much about the Bible characters, |
| 1:30.2 | but stories about God, how God is faithful, how God keeps his promises, how God asks us to obey him, |
| 1:38.0 | and live by a certain code of morals. So the entire Old Testament, we get to know God. In the New Testament, we get to know |
| 1:48.4 | Jesus. He is perhaps the easiest person in the Trinity for us to understand. And that's obviously |
| 1:55.5 | because he's like us. Jesus came to earth. He had emotions and pain. He had a mom and dad. He had friends. He dealt with |
| 2:06.2 | rejection. Granted, he was also God. He sacrificed himself for us in a way that we might not be |
| 2:14.7 | capable of doing. But we understand Jesus. We can see him walking |
| 2:20.8 | around in the Bible stories and hear the words that he says. So he is the easiest one for us to |
| 2:27.8 | understand. And then, of course, there's the Holy Spirit. So before we dig into the Holy Spirit, let's just remember kind of how the |
| 2:37.2 | Holy Spirit came to be. Before Jesus ascended back up into heaven, he promised the apostles, |
